The editing pass that ships
Endless tweaks feel like craft and behave like fear. Shipping content needs a finite edit — short enough to finish the same day.
Pass one: structure
Delete anything before the first useful sentence. Make headings tell a story by themselves. Move examples next to the claims they prove.
Pass two: claims
Underline every absolute (“always”, “never”, “best”). Keep only the ones you can defend. Soften or cut the rest. Specific beats swagger.
Pass three: friction
Read aloud once. Cut throat-clearing openers (“In today’s digital landscape”). Replace vague nouns (“solutions”, “experiences”) with the thing you actually made.
Pass four: publish hygiene
Title under ~60 characters of sense. Excerpt that is not a duplicate of the first paragraph. Internal link to one related page. Image with a real alt. Then hit publish — the fifth pass belongs to future you with analytics, not today’s anxiety.
